As boyfriend has often lamented, there is something inherently faux about Los Angeles. Whether you’re at The Grove or exploring Culver City, the buildings take on the look of a film set–you’re not quite sure if anything would actually be inside if you opened the door.
However, this does not really bother me. Of course, there is no substitute for real charm, but while living in LA, one must make the best of things and if faux quaintness is what you’ve got to sell at the right moment, I’m buying.
With this spirit in mind, I recently ventured to Rush Street a really fantastic restaurant right in the heart of downtown Culver City.
On a sunny evening, it is the perfect spot to grab a delicious artisan pizza on the happy hour menu ($8!!) or a glass of wine before a movie at one of the many theaters nearby- both of which we have done before.
They have a pretty awesome half price wine bottle night and they also appear to have live music…must go back to investigate.
Either way, Rush Street sure adds a little depth to this city.
