This past weekend marked a major landmark in my life- I was able to see THE LION KING on the big screen once again.
Tearful, joyous and in awe, my mom and I sat at Hollywood Boulevard’s El Capitan theater side by side just as we sat 17 years ago in a similar theater in San Francisco.
Popcorn in a plastic themed tub was shared, and songs were boisterously sung at the tops of our lungs. Perhaps the only difference is that I’m not quite as scared of Scar and I wasn’t in some sort of booster seat/floral print Laura Ashley legging get-up upon arrival….although I did consider both.
In short, The Lion King 3D is beautiful and magical for no other reason than us 22-ish year olds get to relive a defining moment in our lives—-The moment we realized “Oh, I just can’t wait to be kiiing!”
Everyone knows that I love a good brunch. In fact, I tend to believe that there is nothing really quite better than brunch in the whole world. Brunch could solve a lot of problems if people just let it.
Brunch with bottomless mimosas on the other hand, could bring about world peace.
This past Sunday I had the ultimate pleasure of not only enjoying a fantastic brunch at Eva Restaurant complete with bottomless mimosas, but thanks to my deal hunting and Bloomspot, we were able to enjoy it at half price…

Yes, the stars truly collided on this one to create a brunch-going masterpiece. We simply must do it again, dhhaling.
I simply adore a 2 part day.
You know, one of those days that seems to go on forever, but in a good way?
Take today, I’ve already had 2 days, and will probably be able to squeeze 3 or 4 out of it!
This morning consisted of a lovely walk to Basix Cafe in West Hollywood, complete with an Americano and low-fat berry pie breakfast.
This afternoon holds plans with a good friend and maybe a Bar Method class?
Later, hopefully happy hour and dinner.
Voila! 3-4 days worth of activities all wrapped up in one! Some call it busy, I call it a good Friday…
Here are a few things that I loved about July. We shall see what joys August will bring…
